We as a team are trying to work
on story ideas, I had the idea if we decided to focus on the violence level of
hell, and we could create a spiralling city background which would include “the
city of Dis”. For the story development I had the idea of starting with violence
the seventh circle creating a cone shape; this could get the character through
more of the levels of hell quickly but still showing the audience scenes from
each part of hell and the torture. I had the idea of the character entering the
seventh door and standing at the edge of a cliff looking down into the river of
blood which is the third of the three circles of violence against art, god and
nature. He would then panic and try to escape, falling and tripping onto a
slide creating a whirl pool effect travelling to the centre of violence. I
thought the city would be good to model seeing as it is different from the
standard room almost showing there is no escape.
While talking about the greed
circle of hell, it was discussed that Cerberus would be a guardian of that
particular area. I thought that it would be a massive challenge to undertake
modelling and rigging a three headed dog/worm, so I had the idea of having the
character opening the third room as he looks at the door we see a stone dog/worm
head on either side of the door frame, the middle head of Cerberus lunges at
the door and snaps at the character. A shot shows the three heads in line,
showing Cerberus but in an original way.
Finally I had the idea of making Minos in limbo a statue rotating pointing to each of the doors in the waiting room of limbo, creating a game show like event. It could be a major focal point for the room.
