Limbo Scene - Gavel Model

Limbo Scene - Lift Roof

Development and placement of the lifts roof in the Limbo scene.

Lift Scene - Blocking and Detailing

The two blocks shown in the scene represent John and Minos so I could make sure the scene matched my elevator designs and the size guide.

Placement of the posters and mirror. A close up shot of the screws I modelled can be seen below.

Lift buttons and floor counter initially designed by Lisa Jones in the pre-production stage.

Memory Wipe screen shown below.

Completed lift design. Overall I didn't have many problems creating this scene, I will import this object into the office and limbo scenes so they all match exactly.

Limbo Scene - Lift Model

Lift model with character block.

Limbo Scene - Lift Modelling

Making of the lift, I imported the lift model from the office scene to make the two environments link like in my original pre-production designs. I initially had trouble working out how the doors would open in the lift without getting stuck on the inside of the doors, so I decided to have the lift frame on the inside as well as the outside. I then created the walls of the lift setting it through the inside lift frame, so the doors can fully open without seeing any gaps.

I extruded the walls from the floor, which I modelled based on my lift floor plans, it matches the lift frame shape. I then extracted the floor from the walls to make texturing easier.

I wanted to change the number on the lift, so seeing as this scene is set in Limbo the first circle of hell I thought putting a one would be the most appropriate. I use Tranjan Pro font, which I will also use for the lettering on the door signs. Below are the development shots of making the "1".

Limbo Scene - Reception Desk Modelling

Here are the development screen shots to show the progression of the reception desk. I have struggled with edge looping the model to keep the circular shape, while making the elevated section of the desk sharp. I will need to get some help from my lecturers to help fix this problem. However I am happy with the overall shape of the model, it matches my design well.

Limbo Scene - Modelling

I have started modelling the Limbo environment for "The Inferno" film, so far I have re-created the floor and walls. I measured these new models with my initially blocked walls and floor, so the blocked scene which I gave to Aimee to begin animating will match exactly. I made sure that I was happy with the sizing and placements of all of the objects in the blocked scene (shown previously), so once the environment is completed the animation can be imported and still work with the new scene.

The shape on the right shows the old blocked walls, which has been replaced by the newly modelled walls. Originally I did model the new walls by extracting them from the floor, but to make texturing simpler later on in production I decided to model them separately.

Above you can see the inside of the new environment. Next I will work on modelling the lighting.
