These are the matt paintings that I have painted in Photoshop to be placed in After Effects when compositing.
This blog will be continuously updated to show all of my work from my final year Animation (BAHons) course 2012-2015 at University of Lincoln.

Test Renders - Lighting.
I lit and rendered the scenes in Velo Etoile, I have then moved the images in After Effects and made sure that the colours and lighting look the same as the Maya renders. It took a while to sort out issues with referencing but in the end it matches the colour keys. For this film my main jobs were environment modelling, texturing, lighting, rendering and editing/compositing.

Office Block - Design
Discussing "The Inferno" film with our guest lecturer we were told that we needed an establishing shot to show where the character is when he is sitting in his office. I have taken on the job of designing and modelling the outside of the office block.
Below are the thumbnails and outlines for the office tower block. As a group we decided that 7 worked well, as we could show that he is quite low down in the company easily.
Here I have created 6 quick sketches to show the surrounding area of the office block, because we only want to focus the audiences attention on the tower I will matt paint the background. We chose design 2, the only thing that was said was that I needed to add more trees and lampposts to the foreground.
Lamp Post moodboard, seeing as we have a tight deadline I will keep the lamp post models simple and base then on the standard UK street lamp posts. These will work well in the scene seeing as at the start of the film the backgrounds are modernised.

Elevator Graffiti Styles
For the graffiti design on the liftt doors we have decided to use design 3. The dark colours will stand out against the plain colours of the lift.
Dantes Inferno Poster - Final
As a group we decided that showing just the environments works well for the map. The others looked interesting, however this matches the style of the original Dantes Inferno map.

Elevator Lighting Concepts
Blue Lighting Tests
I have asked the Director and she likes the 3rd design for the blue lighting, however we felt that the blue was to intense for the small space. But this has helped me to figure out what colour the lighting needs to be.
Orange Lighting Tests
Again the 3rd design has been chosen for the lighting and the intensity of the lighting will ne toned down.
