Families in the 1970s

Researching into life during the 1970’s it was a decade that started with war but ended with peace. Families gathered together to enjoy meals each night or just coming together to gather around the TV, if they had one. Seeing as the home centered largely around the family I think it would be a good idea to fill the room with lots of photo frames of all shapes and sizes, this could show the audience that the characters are a traditional 70’s family in a limited amount of time.
I have found that record players were still widely used in the home during this time; I could create some realistic models to place in the living room to make it look more homely and to identify the era. Seeing as the main character will only be a young child when this scene will be shown, I won’t include any video games like the Atari system but I could add in some toys depending on his age.

The setting for the living room scene will be in a typical city family home in the UK, I will begin to develop mood boards to further develop the look of this environment.
